Nice to meet you!
Vanessa Maharaj
She /Her Registered Social Worker, MSW Psychotherapist
Wondering if therapy is right for you? Maybe there are times when you feel that you are running on empty and can’t catch your breath. If you are starting to feel a bit lost, disconnected or that the day-to-day stress and worries of life are starting to affect you then maybe it’s time to talk.
My goal is to help you navigate these experiences by offering a space for new ideas and perspectives. I want to help you begin to feel more like yourself, worry less and find balance in your life.
Vanessa is a Registered Social Worker with over 16 years experience providing clinical therapy to children, youth, and adults.
She has a Master of Social Work degree along with several certifications in various therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT informed practice), Narrative Therapy, Attachment and Trauma-focused therapy.
Over the course of her career, Vanessa has worked in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings, including a hospital-based mental health day program for children, a community-based children’s mental health agency, transitional youth programs, and the school system. More recently, she has enjoyed working with adults of all ages on areas such as life transitions, grief, personal development, and work/life balance.
She brings extensive knowledge and skills from these diverse work experiences into her sessions which allow her to provide a wholistic framework and perspective when developing client-specific interventions.
“I will always be listening for the glimmers of hope and strength in your experiences and together will we find opportunities for growth and balance.”
