Samantha Hauzar
She /Her Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) BA, MACP
Making the decision to come to therapy is often not an easy one, and requires courage and a desire for change. Working with a therapist can feel intimidating or vulnerable at first. It is my priority as your therapist to ensure you can feel safe, secure, and comfortable within the therapeutic setting, and are open to share as much or as little with me as you choose. It is my hope that together we can build a healthy and trusting therapeutic relationship, where we focus on understanding your identity and personality from a holistic perspective, identify your areas of strength and improvement, create an individualized treatment plan using evidence-based modalities, and work together toward your goals and desires. Together we can begin your journey towards health and happiness!
Samantha is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with experience working with youth, adolescents, adults, and families. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, stress management, grief, and people who have experienced trauma and intimate partner violence.
Samantha is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centred Therapy.
Samantha has gained knowledge and experience working with various people from different cultures and backgrounds and adopts a culturally competent and unbiased perspective. Samantha helps her clients by creating individualized treatment plans tailored to the client’s identity, personality, strengths, goals, and desires, to help them yield tangible results and improve their overall mental well-being, health, and happiness.
“I carry the personal belief that we are the expert of our own life. Thus, I view the client and therapist as equals, who are working together to discover the best way to improve the client’s life. Client input and feedback is not only welcome, but a crucial part of the therapeutic process. I view my client as the “driver”, and I am right next to them in the passenger seat. I view my role as your psychotherapist as supporting you, providing you with tools, and guiding you through each step of your therapeutic journey.”
