Chrissy McLean
She /Her Registered Social Worker, MSW Psychotherapist
Life is a journey, full of challenges and wonderful experiences. Sometimes the challenges can be overwhelming, scary and frustrating. I would be honoured to help guide you through the challenges, offer validation and build you up! You don’t need to do it all alone. My approach is to acknowledge your struggle and then focus on your strengths.
Chrissy specializes in supporting children, youth and adults. She also provides consultation to parents on how they can support children with mental health. She has worked with clients who have generalized and social anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression, and borderline personality disorder. Issues can also include low self-esteem/confidence, emotion dysregulation, self-harm, family conflict, relationships, transitional life changes, work/life stress and parenting.
Chrissy uses elements of CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, Mindfulness, DBT, Emotion Focused Family therapy and Narrative therapy. With younger children, she uses a play-based approach focused towards their developmental level.
Supporting families and youth for a combined 17 years in children’s mental health, Children’s Aid, public education system and private practice. Chrissy is dedicated to ongoing professional trainings and development.
